Not Madness, Magic!

I am not a sports person (big surprise), but I do know that “March Madness” is an annual college basketball championship in the cultural zeitgeist that inspires reflection, prediction, and light-hearted competition (in the form of friendly wagers, office pools, etc…).

But I have always loved the idea of launching a “March Magic” campaign to parallel the sports-focused tournament. It wouldn’t be a competition, it would be a period of reflection and declaration about the people, experiences, or artifacts that we realize and discover cultivate and reveal “magic” in our lives.

And, since this year’s “March Madness” tournament doesn’t kick off until Tuesday, March 19, I feel perfectly comfortable launching a new 2023 “March Magic” campaign today, March 15, because we still have a half month left to discover and declare that magic!

Welcome to the Spiritual SPINister’s 2023 March Magic campaign!

Let’s start simple. Is there something you possess that you have always considered a “good luck charm?” Or a task or ritual you do before facing a big challenge that always seems to yield success? Or a piece of jewelry you have that has meaning for you that seems to bring on an amazing day?

For the next 24 hours, find that item/artifact/jewelry OR recall that ritual. Make some time to really reflect on why this is your “go-to” for good fortune, or success, or something wonderful for you. Either in meditation or in a journal, reflect on all of the times that this item or ritual has helped you manifest that intention — almost as if by magic.

After reflecting on just how much magic this item or ritual has represented for you, take the next 24 hours to consciously apply this item or ritual to a new intention for you. Focus on that intention as aligned with that item or ritual, but don’t fuse or tightly attach the two…just comfortably align them in your mind and heart, and then them both into the Universe. Pay attention to when and where that intention comes to fruition…note it, write it down, and realize that it is MAGIC, simply because you applied intended energy to it -- and it happened for you!
