Are You Loving This Month?

As I was drafting the subject line of this week’s FireBall newsletter, I had a bit of an “a-
ha” with the phrase I had chosen, “Are You Loving This Month?”
There are a couple perspectives from which to answer this question. You could respond to the question as if it were inquiring if you were enjoying the month of February. Loving is the verb, and month is the object of your loving. If this is how you read the question, then your answer might range from “February sucks,” to “it’s okay, I guess” to “I’m having the best month ever!”
My guess (based on only my interactions with a few folks and the general melancholy that seems to pervade February each year) is that most would end up somewhere in the “Meh…” part of the spectrum. February is the shortest month of the year but really does feel like the longest in many ways, right?
But what if we read this question as “are you loving this month?”
Are you loving within the experience of your life, this month?”
Are you loving your family and friends?
Are you loving humanity?
Are you loving the magnificence of Life?
Quite a shift in understanding of this question, isn’t it? Either we are looking at our time and experience as something outside of us to be enjoyed or tossed away, or we can inquire of our Divine self if we are actually living life as a loving person — being a person who loves, and who is curious and eager to find more ways to love even more.
A slight shift in perspective that can move us from feeling like we are pawns in our life, to reflecting on our own infinite opportunities and possibilities to know Love, share Love, and, most importantly, BE LOVE — in this month, week, year, day, or even moment.
Are you LOVING this month? Are you LOVING this MOMENT?
